Sunday September 3rd, 2017 will see the running of the 11th MTB Wagga 6 Hour. The event is a club run 6 hour endurance race, held at Pomingalarna Reserve on the western outskirts of Wagga Wagga NSW. The course is a 13km figure of eight loop, of around 95% single track, through natural bush land.
We pride ourselves on offering riders a value for money, family friendly, fun and professionally run, local club event.
Come and see for yourself.
The 6 hour course caters for riders of all levels and abilities, with lap times generally ranging from 29:00 to 1:30:00 minutes. This is a great event to do in a team with your mates and any rider with reasonable skill and fitness levels, should have no problem completing a lap. There are plenty of sections to test and satisfy the more seasoned riders and the nice flowy sections are guaranteed to have everyone grinning from ear to ear. Don’t believe us? Just ask past riders what they thought of the final 2kms of track from the cross over, back down to transition!
Unlike most enduro rides where laps completed after the 6 hour mark are counted, in our event, riders must be back in transition before the 6 hours are up, in order for their last lap to count. For example if you have been doing 40 minute laps all day and come through transition at the 5hr 25 min mark, unless you think you can do a sub 35 minute lap, you would not go back out again. Makes for an interesting twist, especially for teams in the last hour of riding.
A 30 minute, Under 12 event is also offered and is run on a short 2km, non technical course, adjacent to the transition area. This will start before the main event and entries must be completed online before the cut off on Saturday 2nd September. See more details in the Categories and Prizes section.
Solo riders looking for an extra challenge, should check out details of our 100km Challenge. This commenced in 2014.
The race headquarters will be situated on the eastern side of Pomingalarna reserve, on the golf driving range. Access is off the Sturt Highway, onto McNickle Rd and then the first left into Bagley Drive. Follow the sealed road and then the MTB Parking signs along the dirt road. DO NOT PARK in the Golf Club Car park. Foot access to the course is unrestricted, as it is situated in a public reserve. Please stay off the track where possible, but if you need to cross it at anytime, give riders right of way.
